I have been dying to photograph this adorable, spunky little girl for a while now. So I asked her mom if she wanted to bring her around for a visit yesterday. She graciously agreed and came to Fallbrook with PJ and selections from her awesome wardrobe in tow. We had SO much fun!! Can’t wait to play again! Stay tuned for Part II – I have SO many pics that I love from this day.
I am embarrassed by how long it took me to blog these images. These were taken during my last visit with my friend, Leah Zawadzki and her gorgeous family back in mid-April. The first one of Joe is now one of my all-time favorite images. As a lot of you know, I have struggled a lot with the D700 and when I took that shot and looked at the raw file it was almost perfect. I barely had to do any editing to it and I was so stoked – it felt like a turning point for me. I had gotten so comfortable with my Canon and was waiting for the time when I felt that way about the Nikon…I think I am finally there, or much closer at least. 
I’m headed back for another few days with them at the end of the month so stay tuned for photos from that visit (hopefully it won’t take me quite as long to blog them)! Thanks for looking!!!

I am so lucky to have some of the cutest kids in my life! Now, if only those cute kids would be willing to let me photograph them all the time
My niece, Peyton, is 4 years old and is my brother’s youngest child. They live a pretty good ways from us so I was super excited when they came up for a visit AND she let me snap a few pics of her. The only time we had was around noon on a Sunday – and we all know that noon light can be tricky. I think we pulled it off though!!
My nephew, Gavin, is 3 years old and is my sister’s only child (so far). He lives closer to me so my camera is on him quite a bit and lately he has not been a fan of it at all!! But on these 2 days depicted above he was being so sweet and such a little poser. Could just eat him up, especially when he is like that
These were all taken on my last day of my visit with the Sandoval clan back in April. These girlies were so very sweet to pose for me and I can’t wait to see them again at the end of the month
These adorable little girls are actually my nephew, Gavin’s, first cousins (on his dad’s side). Since I had never met them, I decided to take a day trip to Laguna Beach during my last CA trip in April for some fun and photographing. I think we were able to capture some really great shots from our day. Hope you guys enjoy them and I really hope I see you on my next trip!! xo
While out in CA this past April, I babysat my good friend Carrie’s nieces and nephew for an afternoon. They are so adorable!! Ian and Libby are twins and Ian has recently discovered, much to their dad’s dismay, that he enjoys wearing his sister’s tutus. So funny!! Love these moments I captured with them and also their baby sister….I just have to get my camera out when there is a baby in footie pajamas around

This beautiful field of purple flowers was found behind a Target shopping center in Southern California! So, even though it was noon and the lighting was less than ideal – we just had to stop and photograph Carrie’s girlies in it.
I spent 5 weeks in California during March and April – and have loads and loads of photos to show for it. Stay tuned!!
If this handsome guy looks familiar it is because I have been photographing him since he was 4 years old! Every year around his birthday we get together, although these past two years we have been cutting it pretty close! There is just no greater compliment than a client who appreciates your work so much that she comes back year after year. I just love watching him grow. You can see last year’s (and the year before and the year before) photos here.

Back in February, my nephew had his tonsils removed at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. What an awesome place! I have never been in a more cheery looking hospital. They really know what they are doing and took excellent care of my sweet, little nephew. I would love to do some work with them one day. Perhaps I should look into that. Of course I had to bring my camera along and document this time in his life.
The above quote was on a sign that was on the outside of the hospital. I couldn’t agree with it more.
I hope that one day, when it is all said and done, that I made a difference in this child’s life. He has definitely made a difference in mine. I <3 him so.

I took these shots of then 5 month old Sky couple of months ago (February to be exact) and have been so busy that I am just now getting around to sharing them. I am sure her mom, who is a dear friend of mine, will be happy…and quite surprised!
I can’t wait to get back to my home town and take more photos of her as she is almost sitting up on her own and that is my absolute favorite time to photograph babies! So excited to get lots of awesome shots of her. She is just scrumptious.
