Atlanta Child Photographer | 8 Years Old

I have been photographing this gorgeous guy every year since he was 4 years old. It is such an amazing compliment when a client comes back year after year. It makes me feel like I am doing something right.

I can’t wait to photograph age 9. :)

The Happy Traveler | Almost 10

These beautiful girlies belong to my good friend, Carrie Sandoval. Twins, almost 10 years old – They could not be more different but could also not be more lovely in their own unique ways.

The Happy Traveler | The Jackson 3

My friend, Carrie, with her girls.

These three adorable kiddos are the nieces and nephew of my good friend, Carrie Sandoval (who can be seen in the last photo on this post with her three girlies). I took these photos the day before I left California to head back home to Atlanta. To be honest I wasn’t expecting much out of two almost 4 year olds and an almost 2 year old but they totally surprised me! They are such fun, amazing kids and gave me the perfect going away present. :)

Thanks guys!

The Happy Traveler | The “Z” kids – Part Deux

Last week I posted the first part of my visit with my friend, Leah Zawadzki, and her family. As promised, here is part two! We all went for a little walk that afternoon with photos and a little lizard hunting in mind. I just love California. The light and landscape are so beautiful and most of my favorite photos are taken there. It takes all the strength I can muster up some days not to pack up and move back right now. Maybe one day…

Thanks for the visit “Z” family. I’m looking forward to the next one.

See Leah’s shots from this day here and some here.

The Happy Traveler | Birthday Duo

These photographs were taken during a lovely visit with my good friend, Leah Zawadzki, and her fun little family a few weeks back. Shown here are her twins who just happen to turn 7 years old today!! What a perfect day to blog their photos, right!? :) I had such a great time with these guys. They definitely made me work hard for these images though and I mean that literally. I  jumped on the trampoline with them for a good few hours in exchange. Talk about a workout!  So totally worth the tired, noodley legs though. :) I feel so blessed to have so many friends in amazing places all over the world who invite me into their homes and allow me to take photos of their gorgeous kids.

Happy 7th Birthday, K+J! I hope the day is everything you could wish for and more. xo

Stay tuned for part two of my weekend with the Z family. I am back in Atlanta now and have a good number of sessions on the calendar in the coming months so I am hoping to get caught up on the blog before then!!

Atlanta Child Photographer | Peach Blossoms

This peach orchard is right down the street from my mom’s house. Every year I want to take photos there and every year I am out of the state when the trees are in bloom. This year I was determined not to miss it so once I saw the blooms were out I called up my cousin and she headed over with her 3 little girls.I know these aren’t perfect but I am so glad I was able to get something before they were gone. Maybe next year I will be in town longer than a day during peach blossom season  :-)

The Happy Traveler | One last photo shoot before takeoff

On the last day of my visit with Deb Schwedhelm in Tampa we stopped for one last photo shoot on the way to the airport to catch my flight back to Atlanta. I was able to capture some really beautiful moments in that short little time. I seriously have no words for how much I adore this family’s love for one another so I’ll just let the photographs do all of the talking. :)

Deb, you are a wonderful mom and you have some pretty amazing little mini-humans to show for it. xoxo

Atlanta Child Photographer | Ivy + Paige

Wow! This might be the most image heavy blog post I have ever posted!! I had so much fun with these girlies that I just couldn’t narrow it down! Remember this shoot? Well, afterwards I became addicted to photographing a child who enjoys being in front of a camera so I asked PJ’s mom if she knew of anyone else who was a complete and total ham. Then she introduced me to Ivy…a total photographer’s dream!! As soon as I saw her I knew I just had to get her in front of my camera. Total natural and charming to boot!

Thank you guys so much for making the trip!! Hope to see you again soon!!! xoxo

Enjoy!

Atlanta Child Photographer | PJ – Part II

Finally getting around to blogging the rest of the images I shot while hanging out on a lovely afternoon with PJ (Miss Personality) and her mommy. Hope I get to play with them again soon :)

Atlanta Child Photographer | A visit with friends.

I just got back from a 3 week visit to Southern California (where all of these images were taken) I spent the majority of the time with my good friends Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall but on my last weekend there, Carrie and her girls drove me to Orange County to spend the weekend with the amazing Leah Zawadzki and her family. Carrie and the girls stayed and hung out that first day and we had the best time! Although we do not have many photos to prove it! The kids were far too busy swimming, playing, roasting marshmallows and eating ice cream to let us take any (and we were too busy chatting!!)

I had such a great time with Leah and crew that weekend.  We went to see her oldest sing at church and then to a yummy bbq place that had the best side dishes: blueberry cornbread, sweet potato fries, fried pickles etc. I totally forgot my camera (like a dummy) so I have no documentation of that either! BUT, that night we headed to Laguna Beach to visit with friends of the Zawadzki family and that is where I captured these next images. Such a great time with great people and yummy food! Pretty cute kids too I might add :)

This next image is the only one we have from that day of all of the kids together. I overlooked it at first, or dismissed I should say.  It is flawed, not perfectly focused, no eye contact…but I love it all the same.  I am learning to accept the imperfections in life, in me, in my photographs.

And  that is what this image is, perfectly imperfect.

Leah and crew: I had a wonderfully amazing time with you and I hope to visit much more often on my next trips out west. xoxo
