Atlanta Child Photographer | A Day in the Life…

One day last month, while my sweet, crazy little cousin Aidan was off from school, we spent the day together. I had been wanting to do a day in the life of shoot for awhile. So, when I arrived at his house that morning to see him eating breakfast in his superhero jammies, messy hair, morning eyes and bathed in beautiful light I asked myself ” what are you waiting for?” and pulled out my camera. The following video is what I captured on that oh so special day and images that I will treasure always. The song is one I used to sing to him as a baby when I would rock him to sleep.

Thank You Aidan for letting me be a part of your life. xoxo

Atlanta Child Photographer | A visit with friends.

I just got back from a 3 week visit to Southern California (where all of these images were taken) I spent the majority of the time with my good friends Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall but on my last weekend there, Carrie and her girls drove me to Orange County to spend the weekend with the amazing Leah Zawadzki and her family. Carrie and the girls stayed and hung out that first day and we had the best time! Although we do not have many photos to prove it! The kids were far too busy swimming, playing, roasting marshmallows and eating ice cream to let us take any (and we were too busy chatting!!)

I had such a great time with Leah and crew that weekend.  We went to see her oldest sing at church and then to a yummy bbq place that had the best side dishes: blueberry cornbread, sweet potato fries, fried pickles etc. I totally forgot my camera (like a dummy) so I have no documentation of that either! BUT, that night we headed to Laguna Beach to visit with friends of the Zawadzki family and that is where I captured these next images. Such a great time with great people and yummy food! Pretty cute kids too I might add :)

This next image is the only one we have from that day of all of the kids together. I overlooked it at first, or dismissed I should say.  It is flawed, not perfectly focused, no eye contact…but I love it all the same.  I am learning to accept the imperfections in life, in me, in my photographs.

And  that is what this image is, perfectly imperfect.

Leah and crew: I had a wonderfully amazing time with you and I hope to visit much more often on my next trips out west. xoxo

Atlanta Child Photographer | Happy Mother’s Day!!!

I took these photos back in February as a special Mother’s Day surprise for my sweet, sweet mom. These are all 4 of her grandchildren. The first shot is pretty much one of the only shots we have of the 4 of them together and she was absolutely overjoyed when we presented her with a 24×36 canvas of it.  There were tears, big ones. It made my day that I could do that for her.  She means so very much to me. I really have no words to express how much.  But a picture is worth 1000 words, right? So…Happy Mother’s Day mom. Enjoy my 4000 words!!!!

Atlanta Children’s Photographer | Happy (Belated) Easter!

Wow, could I BE anymore behind?!  2010 marked the first Easter I was able to spend with my family in 4 years! I was stoked!! I love our get togethers and it doesn’t hurt that I have so many adorable kiddos in my family!  Hope you guys enjoy the pics!!!

Atlanta Baby Photographer | Sweet Baby Lily.

I am really behind on my blogging so I will probably be posting like crazy in the next couple of days.  This is my  baby cousin, Lily. She is 3.5mths old and is the sweetest, happiest little thing. I just love her to bits and clearly my camera feels the same way!

Atlanta Child Photographer | California Vacation Part III (sisterly love)

As I am writing this post that includes the last photos from my California trip, I am SO excited to announce that I am headed back to CA for a whole month starting next week!!!! SO awesome! I had no idea I would be back for another visit so soon!!! So, you know what that means don’t you?  Lots more pics to come in the next few weeks I hope!

Atlanta Child Photographer | California Vacation Part II (a surprise visit)

I am thoroughly enjoying my visit here in California and trying to soak up every minute!! Earlier in the week one of my closest friends, Julia Franzosa, drove down to Fallbrook (where I have been staying with my friend Carrie) from Santa Barbara for a surprise visit!! Sneaky girl, I had NO idea she was coming! What an awesome treat that was. I have really missed her. We had such a great time hanging out, chatting, going to the movies…just like old times.  We even got to photograph Carrie’s 3 girlies together (as seen above). I had a blast and can’t wait to see her again.  Thanks so much for making the trip, friend!!!  Until next time…

Atlanta Child Photographer | California Vacation Part I (Lily Analicious)

I am back in California after 5 long months of being away. Granted, I am only here for a short 2 week stay but I will take what I can get :) Lily was so good to me the other day and let me take lots of pretty pictures of her. It only cost me one after dinner lollipop ;)  I have really missed my friends and this beautiful California weather.  Hopefully, I will be back here one day…for good!

Atlanta Baby Photographer | Trying to get back into the swing of things

Wow, it has been over 3 months since my last blog post. A lot has happened.  At the beginning of October I crushed the fingers on my right hand in an accident. One finger had a severe compound fracture and the bone was completely crushed on another. I also had horrible lacerations.  Three months, 8 pins, and 2 surgeries later here I am.  I still do not have full use of my hand but with the help of therapy 3 times a week it is slowly getting better. I have just recently been able to press the shutter on my camera so hopefully I will be taking more pictures really soon.  The accident, injury and long healing process forced me to move back home to Atlanta, GA.  So, that is my current base of operations. I hope to make it out to California again really soon. I miss it, dearly.  The next three sets of photos were the last photos I took before the accident.  I love them. I was so excited because I had just started to shoot for me again and have fun with it.  The last photo is one I took of my nephew last week. I admit, I am feeling pretty rusty.  Hopefully that will improve :)  Enjoy!

San Diego Child Photographer | Sleeping Beauty.

Taken during Lily’s afternoon nap.  I guess that is what she gets for napping so sweetly in a room with awesome light :)  blog16blog32blog23blog42
