San Diego Child Photographer | 6 weeks

I just returned from an awesome 6 week stay in Southern California. I spent the majority of it visiting with my good friend Carrie Sandoval and her gorgeous family.  During which time she brought me along as she traveled to photograph newborn twins in Colorado!  What an experience that was.  I can’t wait to get back to California. I honestly feel like it is where I am meant to be and after my hand is all healed I have a feeling it is where I will end up!

Below is my little vacation in pictures.  Major photo share here! Enjoy! :)

Day 11 – lots of lily.

Day 14 – sidewalk chalk and hopskotch

Day 24 – hanging out with the lilyblue’s (see blog post below)

Day 26 – newborn twins in Colorado (Posed by Carrie, photographed and edited by me.)

Day 31 – 2 cute girlies and a handsome little fella

Day 34 – fun with the girlies.

Day 38 – Memorial day bbq

Day 39 – last day.

Orange County Child Photographer | The Little LilyBlue’s

I am posting totally out of order and I know what a no-no that can be in the blogging world but I just couldn’t help myself. I love the photos I have to share too much to wait.  Last weekend I visited my friend Leah Zawadzki (lilyblue photography) and her family in Orange County.  I had such a great time with them.  I spent the day with them Saturday at her oldest son’s little league game and then that night I babysat the 3 kiddos while Leah and her husband had a date night.  We had so much fun. Eating pizza and popsicles, playing tag and hide n seek…..some picture taking went on as well…of course! These three are so gorgeous how could I not, right??

Then on Sunday we took the youngest two and headed over to an awesome trail/nature preserve that had the most awesome little yellow flowers everywhere!!! It really made me miss living here in California. We just don’t have things like this in Georgia.  I was in photographer’s heaven! Gorgeous, sweet models and a ridiculously beautiful location.  Below are just a few of the resulting photographs:

Thank you SO much Z family. I have really missed you and can’t wait to do it again soon!!

San Diego Child Photographer | Hanging out at the Baby as Art Workshop

I have been in California on yet another visit since April 22nd and will be here until May 22nd.  A whole month in my favorite place with my favorite friends! What better way to spend my time!? Two of those awesome friends are Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall and together they make up the Baby as Art team. My first weekend here I helped out at the Baby as Art Workshop that was held in a 21st story loft in San Diego’s Gaslamp District and it had the most amazing light.  While Carrie and Britt were photographing the newborn models I snuck a few shots of a couple of the older siblings/cousins who tagged along.  They wer just adorable!! Little S ( the little girl) and I became buddies and she was loving all the attention. Enjoy the pics and head on over to Carrie’s Blog to see the awesome shots of the newborns.

I just got back from a trip to Idaho to visit a very dear friend of mine and her family. I have known her two oldest girls (the blond and brunette together) since they were 2  and 3 years old. Now, here we are…almost 10 years later and she now has a ‘bonus’ daughter (the girl in the first photos) and a 20mth old. What a fun, gorgeous group they are huh? Unfortunately we didn’t get a photo of all 4 girls this time. Trying to schedule all of the girls to be in the same place at the same time proved to be pretty impossible. I guess I will just have to go back for another visit :)

Sorry for the photo overload! I was thrilled with this session and had so much fun doing it. I have known Brittany since she was 4yrs old so I was super excited when her mom called and wanted to hire me to take her senior photos. We cruised all over downtown on a hot saturday afternoon and Britt was such a trooper and so much fun to work with.  It was really easy to take her photo because she is such a gorgeous girl to begin with!! When the session was coming to an end her mom came by with her 3yr old sister and we had a little mini session with her. Such a gorgeous, fun little family. Thanks so much for the day guys. Britt is has been such a pleasure watching you grow over these past 13 years. I wish you all the best girlie! xoxo

Wow. I am so very behind in my blogging. I hung out with my friend Amy during her session with this awesome family. Every year these guys meet up from all around the country for a family vacation here in Balboa! We took photos for a good 3 or 4 hours and the kids were such troopers…very minimal fighting, crying and whining. Truly a great group to work with!

Thanks so much for letting me tag along friend! I had a blast!

Southern California Photographer | Graduation week with the family.

blog11blog22blog5blog41blog32

Ok, my blog posts are getting way out of order. Sorry about that folks.   I graduated from the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA on June 21. A lot of my family flew in from GA to celebrate with me ( my mom, sister, cousin and her family).  I had a great time showing them around town and sightseeing. We also went down to the San Diego zoo where my little  cousin Aidan got his face painted. :)  We spent part of the week in Oceanside and on my cousin’s last night in town we went for a boat ride and did some whale watching. Truth be told, we didn’t see any whales…but we did see a whole slew of dolphins!!!  I just wanted to let me family know how much it means to me that they all came out to share that special day with me. I have the best family ever!!!

Atlanta Child and Family Photographer | Special Visit July 11 – July 28

Summer is here! Your children are happy, healthy, rested and tan. Sounds like the perfect time for portraits to me!!  I am traveling to Atlanta and will be there and available for portrait sessions from July 11 – July 28. Please contact me ASAP to book your session and find out about special rates!

Speaking of  traveling: A very good friend of mine moved to Australia over a year ago and they came back to California for a visit last week. It was so awesome to see them and meet their two new babies. When she left California she was still pregnant with these little ones and now they are almost a year old! Crazy how time flies.  And because a blog post just isn’t the same without some photos here are a few I snapped of the twins and  their 4yr old sister on our visit.

Preparing for Graduation.

It’s official! June has arrived and graduation is less than 3 weeks away!!!! I can not believe it! This has seriously been the fastest three years of my life. The decision to move across the country to pursue my dream of going to photography school was not an easy one but I feel like it was definitely the best choice for me.  I have learned so many things, met so many great people and grown so much as an individual and as a photographer.

One of the things they ask us to do in preparation for the graduation ceremony is to choose a few photos that will be displayed in a video montage as you walk across the stage and will also be displayed in the school photo gallery ( as prints ) after graduation. I wanted to share with you guys the photos that I have chosen to represent my time at Brooks.  What a great ride it has been!
